We are thrilled to announce that we have won the competition for the Integrated centre for drug users in Brussels organised by the Urban Development Corporation (SAU-MSI). Together with BC architects and studies, we are designing a much-needed frontline care centre around the canal and in co-existence with the continuation of the port activity. A ‘well-oiled machine’ for the Port and a warm and welcoming architecture for some of society’s most vulnerable people, offering a 24/7 reception paired with maximum privacy. Here, more than ever, architecture becomes an instrument of social justice.
BOGDAN & VAN BROECK and BC architects & studies are working in a transdisciplinary team with Alive Architecture (participation), T. Ruyters & S. Blancke (Free Clinic Antwerp), BAS (structure), SB Heedfeld (techniques), Daidalos Peutz (EPB, acoustics) and studiov2 (BIM).
